Traditional Shaker Media Wall with Cut-Out Details, Regent’s Park
This bespoke traditional media wall in Regent’s Park fills the living room wall with painted shaker cabinetry in a pale grey-green. Tall cupboards stand either side of a recessed TV, with two rows of drawers below and decorative clover-shaped cut-outs in the upper doors. Every piece was designed, made and fitted by Creative Spaces in our own South East London workshop.
It hides everything a busy living room needs, while looking like a piece of fine furniture.

Media wall in Regent's Park: a painted media wall with hidden storage
The brief
A living room media wall that hides the TV clutter and adds lots of storage, in a style that suits a traditional home.
Designing a media wall
The TV sits in a recess between tall cupboards, with two rows of drawers below above a ventilated plinth for AV equipment.
Clover-shaped cut-outs in the upper doors are decorative and let air circulate, and silver knobs and bar handles finish the painted shaker doors.
The unit on the left was a real challenge: the stairs run behind this wall, so the cabinet becomes very shallow at the top. We designed around it so it still houses a fridge and the electrics.
Materials and finishes
- Fronts: Shaker, painted MDF
- Colour: Farrow & Ball No. 266 Mizzle
- Carcass: Egger Vicenza Oak H3157 ST12
- Handles: Silver knobs and bar handles
- Drawer runners: Riex
- Hinges: Blum
- Flooring: Herringbone
Shaker doors have a simple frame and a recessed panel. The style has been popular for over a century. It works in both period and modern homes.
Painted joinery is usually made from MDF. It stays flat and stable, so the paint goes on smooth and the edges stay sharp. The colour can be matched to the rest of the room.
A strong paint colour gives a room real character. Because every piece is made to order, you can choose any colour to suit the light in your room.
Why choose bespoke media walls?
A bespoke media wall turns the TV wall into a piece of furniture. Cables, boxes and speakers are hidden. Storage goes where you need it, and the TV no longer dominates the room.
Made in our South East London workshop
We work from our own workshop in South East London. Each project starts with a measured survey and 3D renders.
Heights, handles and colours are agreed before a single board is cut. And because you talk directly to the makers, questions get answered quickly.

Questions about this media wall in Regent's Park
Do you make bespoke media walls in Regent's Park?
Yes. This project was designed, made and fitted for a home in Regent’s Park, and we regularly travel from our South East London workshop to work across Regent’s Park and nearby areas such as Marylebone, Primrose Hill and St John’s Wood. Every piece is made to measure for the room it goes into. We also work throughout London and across the whole of the UK, so wherever you are, we would be happy to talk about your project.
Can a media wall hide cables and AV equipment?
Yes. We plan cable routes, sockets and ventilation at design stage, so the TV, speakers and boxes are connected neatly with no wires on show, and equipment cupboards can breathe.
How long does a bespoke media wall take?
It depends on what stage your home is at. If everything is ready, design to fitting usually takes around 1 to 2 months, and sometimes we can have it made and fitted in the same month you first come to us. Once we know more about your project, we will talk the dates through with you and agree them together.
Can you build around a fireplace or chimney breast?
Yes. Alcoves either side of a chimney breast are one of the most common places for a media wall, and every unit is made to fit the exact shape of the walls, even when they are not perfectly straight.
Which materials work best for a media wall?
Painted MDF gives a smooth, durable finish in any colour, while oak or walnut details add warmth. Shelves that will hold books or heavy equipment are made thicker or supported so they will not sag.
Client tips: planning a media wall in Regent's Park
- Decide your TV size first. The whole wall is designed around it, so pick the TV before we finalise the design.
- Plan the cables early. Tell your electrician where sockets and AV points should go before plastering.
- Mix open and closed storage. Doors hide the clutter, and open shelves give space for books and display.
- Plan ahead. If the room is ready, design to fitting usually takes 1 to 2 months.
