Nordique Bathroom with Curved Walnut Vanity, Notting Hill
This walnut vanity in Notting Hill is the centrepiece of a compact bathroom, finished with a gently curved end, made to measure in our London workshop. A brushed brass basin sits on a white marble-effect top, and a matching walnut wall cabinet with fluted glass doors glows softly from inside.
Warm walnut, brushed brass and pale marble-effect walls give a small room a calm, hotel-like feel without wasting a centimetre of space.

Walnut and brass for a small bathroom
The brief
A small bathroom that felt warm and considered rather than purely practical, with proper storage hidden away so the surfaces stay clear.
Designing a walnut vanity
The vanity floats off the floor to make the room feel bigger, and its curved end softens the corner beside the wall-hung WC. Behind the doors and drawer there’s room for towels and everyday essentials.
Small round brass knobs, wall-mounted brass taps and a softly lit wall cabinet with fluted glass doors tie the whole scheme together.
There was no room to open doors to the left of the toilet, so we used sliding doors on the vanity instead. The upper cabinet has beautiful fluted glass, and the walnut veneer is finished to a very high standard.
Materials and finishes
- Fronts: Walnut veneer
- Top: White marble-effect Durasein
- Handles: Round brass knobs
Walnut is a rich, dark hardwood with a beautiful grain. It adds warmth and a sense of quality, especially next to painted or pale surfaces.
Fluted fronts have fine vertical grooves. They add texture without extra decoration, and they catch the light beautifully.
A marble-effect surface gives the look of veined stone with less upkeep. It stays bright and clean in daily use.
Why choose bespoke vanity units?
Bespoke bathroom furniture makes the most of small spaces. It can fit tight gaps, follow curves and hide pipework. Moisture-resistant materials keep it looking good for years.
Made in our South East London workshop
We work from our own workshop in South East London. Each project starts with a measured survey and 3D renders.
Heights, handles and colours are agreed before a single board is cut. And because you talk directly to the makers, questions get answered quickly.

Questions about this vanity unit in Notting Hill
Do you make bespoke vanity units in Notting Hill?
Yes. This project was designed, made and fitted for a home in Notting Hill, and we regularly travel from our South East London workshop to work across Notting Hill and nearby areas such as Holland Park, Kensington and Bayswater. Every piece is made to measure for the room it goes into. We also work throughout London and across the whole of the UK, so wherever you are, we would be happy to talk about your project.
Is bespoke joinery suitable for a bathroom?
Yes, as long as the right materials are used. We use moisture-resistant boards and finishes for bathroom furniture, and plan ventilation and sealing carefully so the joinery lasts.
Can a vanity unit be made to fit a small bathroom?
Yes. A wall-hung or curved vanity can be shaped to the room, making space feel larger while still giving proper storage for towels and toiletries.
How long does a bespoke vanity unit take?
It depends on what stage your home is at. If everything is ready, design to fitting usually takes around 1 to 2 months, and sometimes we can have it made and fitted in the same month you first come to us. Once we know more about your project, we will talk the dates through with you and agree them together.
Do you make matching mirror cabinets?
Yes. Mirror cabinets can be made to match the vanity, with shelves inside and optional lighting, so the bathroom feels like one complete design.
Client tips: planning a walnut vanity in Notting Hill
- Fix the plumbing first. Agree tap and waste positions before the vanity is made.
- Go wall-hung in small rooms. A floating vanity shows more floor, so the room feels bigger.
- Coordinate your trades. We can plan fitting dates around your plumber and tiler.
- Plan ahead. If the room is ready, design to fitting usually takes 1 to 2 months.
