Loft wardrobes in Fulham: navy joinery for a loft bedroom
The brief
Plenty of storage in a loft bedroom with sloping ceilings, in a strong colour that makes the room feel cosy.
Designing loft wardrobes
Sliding doors save space in front of the wardrobes, and the long chest of drawers doubles as a TV stand. An angled cupboard fills the space under the roof slope.
Tongue-and-groove detailing runs across the top drawers and above the wardrobes, and brass recessed pulls keep the sliding doors flush.
The top drawers have ribbed grooves cut on our own CNC machine, a detail you only get with made-to-order joinery.
Materials and finishes
- Fronts: Shaker, painted MDF
- Colour: Farrow & Ball No. 30 Hague Blue
- Handles: Brass recessed pulls
- Drawer runners: Grass
- Doors: Sliding
Shaker doors have a simple frame and a recessed panel. The style has been popular for over a century. It works in both period and modern homes.
Painted joinery is usually made from MDF. It stays flat and stable, so the paint goes on smooth and the edges stay sharp. The colour can be matched to the rest of the room.
Brass hardware adds a warm, classic accent. Unlacquered brass slowly develops a soft patina, while brushed brass stays even.
Why choose bespoke loft wardrobes?
Made-to-measure wardrobes use the full height and width of the wall. You get far more storage than with freestanding furniture. The inside is planned around your clothes, with the right mix of hanging, shelves and drawers.
Made in our South East London workshop
We work from our own workshop in South East London. Each project starts with a measured survey and 3D renders.
Heights, handles and colours are agreed before a single board is cut. And because you talk directly to the makers, questions get answered quickly.

Questions about this loft wardrobe in Fulham
Do you make bespoke loft wardrobes in Fulham?
Yes. This project was designed, made and fitted for a home in Fulham, and we regularly travel from our South East London workshop to work across Fulham and nearby areas such as Chelsea, Parsons Green and Putney. Every piece is made to measure for the room it goes into. We also work throughout London and across the whole of the UK, so wherever you are, we would be happy to talk about your project.
How long do fitted wardrobes take to make and install?
It depends on what stage your home is at. If everything is ready, design to fitting usually takes around 1 to 2 months, and sometimes we can have it made and fitted in the same month you first come to us. Once we know more about your project, we will talk the dates through with you and agree them together.
Can fitted wardrobes be built around sloping ceilings and alcoves?
Yes. Because each wardrobe is made to measure, we can follow sloping ceilings, fill alcoves and work around windows, radiators and doors so that no space is wasted.
What is the best material for wardrobe interiors?
Wardrobe interiors need to be stable and hard-wearing. Melamine-faced board (such as Egger MFC) is a popular, easy-clean choice, while a timber or timber-effect finish like walnut or oak adds warmth when the doors are open.
Can you add lighting inside wardrobes?
Yes. LED strips can be built into the sides or shelves and set to switch on when the doors open, which makes it much easier to find clothes and gives the interior a high-end feel.

- Add lighting. LED lights inside make it much easier to find clothes.
- Plan early. If the room is ready, design to fitting usually takes 1 to 2 months.
