Traditional Green Boot Room Unit with Coat Hooks, Battersea

LONDON . BATTERSEA

This bespoke traditional boot room unit in Battersea gives coats, bags and shoes a proper home. It is painted in a deep green, with tongue and groove panelling, leather coat hooks, open shelves above and a bench with sliding doors hiding shoe storage below. Every piece was designed, made and installed by Creative Spaces in our own South East London workshop.

The interior designer placed it in the guest bathroom, the one spot where it looked just right.

THE BRIEF

Traditional boot room unit in Battersea: deep green with coat hooks and shoe storage

The brief

An entrance unit with space for coats, bags and shoes, and a bench to sit on while you take your boots off.

Designing a boot room unit

The back of the unit is lined with tongue and groove panelling, with leather coat hooks for coats, hats and bags. Open shelves above hold baskets and folded knitwear.

Below, a bench sits on top of shoe storage with sliding doors, so shoes are tucked away but easy to reach.

This boot room unit was part of a whole-home project in Battersea. For the same house we also made the children’s bedroom, the utility room, the hallway drawer unit, the room divider, and the media wall.

The interior designer chose to put this coat and shoe unit in the guest bathroom, as there was no other place where it would look as good. The room is rarely used as a bathroom, so the unit works as a tidy home for coats, bags and shoes.

Materials and finishes

  • Fronts: Painted, tongue and groove
  • Colour: Farrow & Ball Beverly
  • Carcass: Egger 18mm board
  • Hooks: Leather coat hooks
  • Doors: Sliding

A painted finish is hard-wearing and easy to wipe clean, which suits a busy entrance.

Tongue and groove panelling adds texture and protects the wall behind coats and bags.

Why choose bespoke joinery

Bespoke joinery is built around your room, not around standard furniture sizes. It uses every bit of space, including awkward corners and sloping ceilings.

Storage is planned for the things you keep in that room, and the finish is chosen to suit the rest of your home.

Made in our South East London workshop

We work from our own workshop in South East London. Each project starts with a measured survey and 3D renders.

Heights, handles and colours are agreed before a single board is cut. And because you talk directly to the makers, questions get answered quickly.

Bespoke joinery in Battersea and nearby

Battersea is in south-west London, in the London Borough of Wandsworth. This project was in an apartment next to Battersea Power Station, with the power station right outside the window. We design, make and fit bespoke joinery across Battersea and nearby areas such as Nine Elms, Vauxhall, Clapham and Chelsea. We also work throughout London and across the whole of the UK, so wherever your home is, we would love to hear about your project.

CLIENT TIPS

Client tips: planning a boot room unit
