Green shaker kitchen in Streatham: green with an island and range cooker
The brief
A classic shaker kitchen with an island for seating, a range cooker and plenty of drawer storage.
Designing a shaker kitchen
The island has seating along one side and storage on the other, with a wide marble-look Durasein solid surface worktop. The range cooker sits on the back wall under a stainless chimney hood.
Brass handles run through the room, and on the island end panel you can see the wood grain showing through the paint.
The fronts are veneered, painted in Farrow & Ball Green Smoke and then wire-brushed, so the wood grain still shows through the paint. It gives the finish a depth and texture you can see and feel.
Materials and finishes
- Fronts: Shaker, painted veneer (wire-brushed)
- Colour: Farrow & Ball Green Smoke
- Interiors: Egger Light Casella Oak 18mm, an oak-effect board
- Worktops: Marble-look Durasein solid surface
- Handles: Brass
- Drawer runners: Blum Legrabox
Shaker doors have a simple recessed panel and frame. They suit both period and modern homes and never date.
Brass handles add warmth against green paint and age beautifully over time.
Why choose bespoke kitchens
A bespoke kitchen is built around your room, not around standard cabinet sizes. There are no filler panels or wasted gaps.
Storage is planned for the things you use every day. And the colour, handles and worktops are chosen together, so the whole room feels considered.
Made in our South East London workshop
We work from our own workshop in South East London. Each project starts with a measured survey and 3D renders.
Heights, handles and colours are agreed before a single board is cut. And because you talk directly to the makers, questions get answered quickly.

Questions about this green shaker kitchen in Streatham
Do you make bespoke kitchens in Streatham?
Yes. This green shaker kitchen in Streatham was designed, made and installed by our own team, and we regularly travel from our South East London workshop to work across Streatham and nearby areas. Every piece is made to measure for the room it goes into. We also work throughout London and across the whole of the UK, so wherever you are, we would be happy to talk about your project.
Do you make painted shaker kitchens?
Yes. Painted shaker kitchens are one of our most popular styles, and we can paint them in any colour you choose.
How long does a bespoke kitchen take from design to fitting?
It depends on what stage your home is at. If everything is ready, design to fitting usually takes around 1 to 2 months, and sometimes we can have it made and fitted in the same month you first come to us. Once we know more about your project, we will talk the dates through with you and agree them together.
Can you fit a range cooker into a bespoke kitchen?
Yes. We plan the cabinetry around the range cooker and extractor, so everything lines up neatly.
Can you work around our existing floor and appliances?
Yes. Every kitchen is measured on site and drawn to fit the room, so we can plan around existing flooring, chimney breasts, windows and the appliances you want to keep.
Client tips: planning a shaker kitchen
- Measure how you cook. Think about where you prep, cook and wash up, and plan the layout around that.
- Plan storage first. List your appliances, pans and food storage before choosing colours. It makes the design much easier.
- Choose colours in daylight. Look at samples at different times of day, in the room the kitchen will go in.
- Plan ahead. If the room is ready, design to fitting usually takes 1 to 2 months.
